The Old Lady and The Shoe Hungry Coyotes

Once upon a time, many days ago there lived an old lady who had only one shoe. Because she only had one shoe she had to switch the shoe from foot to foot to give them each the same time in the shoe. She was a very poor old lady and she lived alone in a one room shack in the woods. Not too far from this shack roamed two coyotes. Ones name was Keith and the other one Russell. They loved to gnaw on shoes they'd see laying about or steal them from a local farm house.

One day Russell said to Keith "Hey! Why don't we go check out that old shack in the woods. I bet they have some shoes we could get pretty easy." "Alright", said Keith "that farmer in the small white house said he'd have a gun ready for us the next time we came back." As Russell and Keith ran through the woods talking about how big and how many shoes they would find. The old lady hopped out to her garden and started pulling weeds. The two coyotes saw this and waited back in the timber. "Did you see that?" exclaimed Keith. "Yeah", replied Russell "You thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Keith "probably not" said Russell "I was thinking of that small white farm house." "Maybe we should do something nice for a change." said Keith "That doesn't sound like much fun but what did you have in mind?" "Just follow me" said Keith.

Keith and Russell ran all the way into town and trotted into the local Dollar General. After a few choice words from the manager and the many angry customers, Keith and Russell emerged and sprinted back towards the woods. After awhile the old lady got up and hobbled back towards her small shack with her feet sore and bleeding from the days work. At the door she saw two sets of footprints going into her house. Immediately aware the old lady calmly palmed her six shooter she had hid in the folds of her dress and steped inside. Inside was as she left it except for a Dollar General bag on her bed. In the bag were two brand new pairs of shoes.

Meanwhile back in the woods two coyotes trotted away, now very happy that they didn't try to rob that little old lady. With a little faster gait than normal Keith and Russell ran off into the sunset, further up the trail at a small white farmhouse a farmer, who just got done with his chores, took off his dirty boots and walked inside.

  1. Haha i enjoyed this story a lot. Looks as if Keith and Russell will have to keep getting a lot of brand new shoes...

  2. That was a well thought out story. I loved how the coyotes helped the old lady instead of taking from her

  3. I really enjoyed the closing. I can actually picture Russell as a coyote. (could that be a picture of Keith?)
